The Lyne is a cosy small apartment situated within the heart of the historic market town of Alnwick. This unique building sits proudly above the cobbles and presents charm and character. This well-presented apartment is situated on the second floor which is accessed via stairs. This unique abode enjoys views across the town and straight across to the castle due to its elevated position.
Set all on one level, you enter the property into a small hallway with gorgeous beams dominating the space leaving you feeling warm and cosy. From the hallway brings you into the modern kitchen/dining/ living room. The kitchen area is finished with modern, sleek units with all appliances are integrated. The living area offers the opportunity to cosy up on the sofa after a fun filled day exploring the town with one of your favourite films. Across the hall you will find one double bedroom and the en-suite shower room.
When you’re ready to begin exploring this historic town, begin with a trip to the incredible and famous Alnwick Castle, one of the largest inhabited castles in the UK and used as ‘Hogwarts’ when filming scenes for the ‘Harry Potter’ films so it’s a must-visit for any fans. The Alnwick Garden is also an exciting visit with its spectacular interpretation of a formal garden, including the Grand Cascade waterfall, poison garden and largest tree house in Europe where guests can dine in the restaurant.
Heading 4 miles east is the picture-perfect coastal village of Alnmouth where there is a gorgeous golden sandy beach. A short drive west brings you to the small town of Rothbury, found nestled at the foot of the Simonside Hills and where the River Coquet ebbs and flows. A short drive North brings you to the delightful fishing village of Seahouses. Start with a stroll around the idyllic harbour, then hop on a boat out to the Farne Islands, ideal for wildlife lovers, where you can observe the puffins and seals relaxing on the rocks. Walkers and cyclists can join the coastal path in either direction to further explore the picturesque coastline.
Head a little further North to discover miles of magnificent sandy beaches, as well as the village of Bamburgh, which is known for its dominant hilltop castle, overlooking the sea, along with its lighthouse, museum and golf club. A short drive along the coast will take you to the fishing village of Craster, with its lovely family-friendly beach and nearby attraction of the 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle, owned by the National Trust.
