The area offers a tremendous amount to occupy guests, with beautiful countryside walks, golf courses, sailing, horse riding and cycling amongst many other adventurous activities available locally. For those with young children, there are also a number of great days out in the area.
If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen. Edenhall is located on the eastern border of the Lake District National Park, and if you like outdoor adventure, you’ll love the scenery, walking and cycling routes, lakes and mountains nearby. Ullswater, with its famous steamers, offers a great day out. If you have younger children, be sure to visit the Rheged Discovery Centre with children’s activities and cinema. If you like a bit of heritage and culture then a visit to Lowther Castle and gardens is a must. The property is only a stone’s throw away from the village hotel with bar and serving meals for non residents.
