A unique chance to stay in the heart of Footdee, known as ’Fittie’ locally, as featured in the BBC2 series ’The Secret History of Our Streets’, just 20 yards from the golden sands of Aberdeen’s famous beach. North Square is a comfortable, welcoming mid terrace historic property, originally built over 200 years ago, which has been the owner’s family holiday home for many years. Perfect for sociable family living, the warm cosy open plan kitchen/dining area, constantly warmed by the delightful Aga, is the hub of the house. There is a separate living room with an inviting coal effect fire for quiet relaxation. There are lovely views of the village square, the beach and harbour beyond from the bedrooms on the first and second floors. Opening onto a charming village square with seating space and private pretty fenced garden area, providing wonderful suntraps to enjoy after brisk walks along the beautiful sandy beach.
Footdee is situated at the eastern end of the two-mile Aberdeen beach where you can play in the sand and surf, enjoy a bracing beach walk, watch pods of dolphins at play, or spot ships visiting the busy Aberdeen port. Within the village, and very close to the house, is an excellent playpark, a renowned restaurant and the Footdee Bar. You can enjoy a leisurely walk along Aberdeen Beach Esplanade, full of excellent bars, night clubs, eateries and decorative shops. Within a 5-minute walk is the stylish Queens Links Leisure Park where there is an amusement park and leisure centre with bowling alley, cinema, mini golf and other attractions. There are also several good supermarkets very close-by. Known as the ’Granite City’ due to its grey buildings that are brightened by its many colourful public gardens and parks, Aberdeen is located on the east coast of Scotland, about 70 miles north east of Dundee on the A90 and developed as a busy trading and fishing port.
Aberdeen is well-known for its numerous attractive parks including Duthie Park, with winter gardens, boating pond, swing park, and tennis or Hazlehead Park with an animal corner, beautiful gardens, putting green, maze, crazy golf and restaurant. There are great opportunities for leisure too, with a fantastic swimming pool with wave machine and an Ice Arena, as well as excellent golfing at the King’s Links. For heritage, you can discover Aberdeen’s close relationship with the sea at the Maritime Museum or explore the cobbled streets and alleys of Old Aberdeen which houses many historic medieval buildings. There is fantastic shopping at the main shopping centre in Union Street and two large indoor shopping centres at Bon Accord and the Trinity Centre. Beach 50 yards.
