Cottage was homely and well equipped. But because of electric heating it was very cold. We had 2 quilts and blankets on each bed. There were a lot of cobwebs as well which I had to remove as children scared of spiders.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am very sorry to learn that you and your family were so cold during your stay at my cottage, and had problems with cobwebs and spiders. That must have been very unpleasant for you. I wish you had contacted me, so that I could have arranged for additional heaters to be brought in. The description of my cottage on the website does say night storage heaters (NSH), but I have to admit that they are not as efficient as central heating, and unfortunately even with the heaters turned up the cottage can feel chilly if the wind is blowing - which does tend to be the case with drafty old properties - and if I remember rightly there was a particularly cold snap during the time of your stay. I'm afraid old properties are also prone to spiders, and even though we do our best to remove them during the changeover cobwebs can appear overnight. Again, I can only apologise that your holiday was spoiled in these ways.

The cottage was perfect for our needs but the lack of a path right outside was a shame and meant we couldn't got for a walk without using the car every time.

My friends and I stayed at Tower End Cottages so that we could attend a wedding at Pentney Abbey. It was a great location for it. Immaculately clean and well equipped, and the host went out of her way to help us when we’d left something behind. I’d very much recommend.

A cosy comfortable cottage nicely decorated.. The early morning traffic really was the only let down and shook us out of our beds.

Good location, pub/restaurants close by, local shops & supermarket not far to travel. Cottage in a nice quiet area, has electric storage heaters but too hot at night would be nice to have gas central heating. Has Under floor heating in kitchen which is very good. Disadvantage was the bathroom is downstairs would be ideal if upstairs.
