There are lots of pretty villages as well as two lively market towns, Hungerford in the heart of the North Wessex Downs and Marlborough, a typical historic English market town, in the top north east corner of Wiltshire.
Berkshire, also known as the ‘Royal County of Berkshire’ being the home of Windsor Castle, boasts all types of self catering cottages in quintessential pretty villages and towns. Picture perfect gastro pubs are plentiful and perfect to enjoy some local food and drink.
