Find cottages in St Davids

St Davids has some of the most wonderful coastal scenery in Pembrokeshire due to its position on the south west tip of Wales. It’s the smallest city in Britain with a tiny resident population of under 2000, has a very rich historical past and is a conservation area within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Boasting a fascinating history and a certain laid-back charm, St Davids continues to attract many visitors each year.

Named after the patron saint of Wales, who once lived here back in the fourth century, today, the city has a unique character all its own and the cluster of traditional shops in the city centre are a delight to stroll around on a lazy afternoon.

The most striking building in the city is the majestic St Davids Cathedral, a truly magnificent structure which dates back to the 12th century; no visit is complete without taking in the splendour of this beautiful building.

The coastline around St Davids forms part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and offers some stunning views. The nearest beach to the city, Caerfei, is just one of a number of award-winning beaches to be found along this stretch of coast. When visiting Caerfei Beach, keep an eye out for the unique purple sandstone, some of which was used in the construction of the cathedral.

This coast offers plenty of water sports activities and regular boat trips operate to see the teeming marine and bird life off shore. If you enjoy walking, you must try the Coast Path that winds its way from St Davids to Whitesands Bay, along the way, taking in plenty of the magnificent scenery, coastal marine and bird life for which the St Davids area is justifiably famous.

To experience the charm and peaceful ambience of Britain’s smallest city, search for cottages in St Davids today.
