  • Cyplau

    Llanbedr near Harlech

    Ref: UK6017
Cyplau is a delightful, rural retreat, nestled in a pretty cottage garden and situated in an elevated location. Originally two gamekeeper’s cottages, it has now been converted into one detached property, hence the name, which is Welsh for ‘coupled’. The cottage itself is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated throughout with a warming wood burner in the lounge. There are plenty of beams to add character and outside the beautiful half acre gardens have a choice of seating areas. Located on the edge of the village, adjacent to the owner’s home, it is only a five minute walk to the traditional village inn which serves food and local ales. From the bedroom windows, the sea beckons you temptingly with the glorious sandy beaches at Shell Island and Morfa Dyffryn being just a few minutes drive away. From the beach, the Rhinog Mountains provide a stunning backdrop to the village which lies in the Snowdonia National Park with walks for all abilities direct from the door. There’s plenty for you to do in the area, from the traditional seaside resort of Barmouth, to Harlech, with its delightful tea shops and castle on the cliffs built by Edward I, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, brooding dramatically over the town. The Talyllyn Railway and the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways are within easy reach and make for a great day out by narrow gauge steam train, whilst the quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis, is well worth a visit. For a more active day out, visit Blaenau Ffestiniog, where you will find the amazing Bounce Below with trampoline nets in a slate cavern the size of St Paul’s Cathedral and the incredible Zip World, the biggest zip wire zone in the world, or take a trip deep into the world of the Victorian slate miner at Llechwedd Slate Caverns.

Ground Floor: The property has electric central heating and comprises:
Lounge: Large with wooden floor, beams, wood burner, 28" Smart TV, DVD player and CD player.
Kitchen: Beamed with breakfast area, double electric oven, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine.
