Find cottages in Barmouth

Arguably one of the most beautiful locations in Wales, Barmouth lies on the coast, sandwiched between a magnificent mountain range and the Irish Sea.

The old town is extremely characterful with narrow alleyways, steep steps and slate-roofed cottages jumbled almost on top of one another. The harbour is particularly picturesque and a sunset walk across the beautiful Barmouth Bridge is the perfect way to end a day. If you check with the tourist information centre, you'll see that there's always something going on in Barmouth, from guided walks, to popular concerts and art festivals.

Staying in a holiday cottage is the perfect way to enjoy the town's large beach, whether you want to paddle or play beach games and there are plenty of shops, pubs and cafes to take advantage of, as well as a funfair in the summer months.

The Mawddach estuary is a popular place for walkers, and there are plenty of routes to suit the casual stroller and the more hardened hiker alike. This area is a haven for birdwatchers and offers some fantastic opportunities for budding photographers. Above the town, lies the open hillside of Dinas Olau (Fortress of Light) which was the very first piece of land owned by the National Trust. A semi circular viewing point has been constructed here, to commemorate the Centenary of the National Trust.

Discover wonderful Wales, from a beautiful base; search Barmouth cottages today.
