Swansea

Swansea, ‘The Waterfront City’, enjoys a prime location on the southwest coast of Wales. Swansea Bay extends for some 5 miles of sandy beach, where you can enjoy days out exploring the coast and countryside and of course the stunning beauty of the Gower Peninsula.

Swansea is undoubtedly a city of contrasts, where historic buildings blend effortlessly with the fabulous modern facilities on offer. A fine example of Swansea’s redevelopment is the stunning Marina and Maritime Quarter, which is an award-winning complex of leisure facilities and attractions. These include the National Waterfront Museum and the Swansea Museum.

The Marina is just a short walk from the many shops, restaurants and pubs of the city centre. In the centre, also stands a grand reminder of the city’s long history, Swansea Castle. Although what remains of the castle today is far from complete, it’s a fine and rather unusual sight, surrounded as it is by the modern buildings of the city.

The Gower Peninsula on which Swansea stands is famed for its beauty, has magnificent coastal views and award winning beaches. Discover the many delightful towns and villages of the area; including just a few miles along the Peninsula the delightful seaside village of Mumbles. This really is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with magnificent seascapes and coastal paths where you can blow the cob webs away and de-stress from modern life. The beaches are wonderful; clean, sandy and uncrowded.
