It may be famous for its rugby team but Llanelli is also a great base from which to explore the many scenic spots in south Carmarthenshire.

Walking and cycling are particularly popular in the area; The Millennium Coastal Path runs for 21 kilometres from close by Pembrey to Loughor, offering spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula. A cycle path also connects the town centre to the nearby National Cycle Network passing to the north and south of the town.
