Nestled peacefully down a quiet lane in the small village of Llangennech, this pet-friendly, traditional, detached former barn has been restored to a very good standard, with a private patio and garden with a gas BBQ, making it a perfect touring base for a family or couple looking to explore west Wales. ‘Glanmwrg Fawr’ has retained much of its original charm, character and lots of welcoming touches have been added, such as wi-fi and a large freesat TV with DVD player. Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas and disabled facilities available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom has adjustable beds. The holiday home boasts a large games room with all the facilities to entertain the family during inclement weather. The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. Situated in a truly magnificent location with spectacular views over the glistening Carmarthen Bay and beautiful Gower Peninsula (AONB), this unique, detached holiday home provides the most outstanding getaway retreat for families or groups looking to explore west Wales. Located down a quiet country lane and accessed by electric gates, it lies just outside the charming coastal village of Burry Port. This holiday home was inspired by an architectural ‘split-level’ design which features two separate living areas, comprising a large living room with a beautiful marble fireplace, farmhouse-style kitchen with a range cooker, dining room, conservatory and a large games room with a full-size snooker table, darts and football table. Each room has been thoughtfully put together with a matching theme throughout to provide guests with a memorable holiday experience. Conveniently located in an excellent touring location, guests can enjoy fantastic walks along the scenic Pembrey Country Park with 8 miles of golden sands at Cefn Sidan. Enjoy a round of golf at the famous Jack Nicklaus course, Llanelli or the Ashburnam links course, or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las Racecourse. A short drive inland brings guests to the county’s rolling countryside which is scattered with charming market towns including Llandeilo and Carmarthen, as well as numerous medieval sites dotted around. A trip to Carmarthenshire is not complete without a visit to Laugharne, which was formerly home to famous Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, who described the charming village as ‘the strangest town in Wales’.
