Talbot Mews has an interesting history, once being a thriving village pub known as the Talbot Inn dating back to the 1850’s. A wing of the old inn has been converted into a spacious and very comfortable three bedroom, two bathroom holiday home, by the owners who live next door. There is a large lounge/dining room and a large sociable kitchen/breakfast room with a central island and easy chairs. The en-suite master bedroom boasts a lovely private balcony with table and chairs, perfect for eating outside and appreciating the stunning views of the shimmering sea, the Millennium Coastal Path and the Gower Peninsula.
With the beautiful Gower to the east and Pembrokeshire to the west, Talbot Mews is perfectly positioned to explore south and west Wales but there is also so much to discover within Carmarthenshire. It has it all, castles, gardens, beaches, unique towns, varied landscapes and an overwhelming choice of activities. Six miles away is Pembrey Country Park and beach, with 550 acres of woodland, Segway and cycle hire, pitch and putt, nature trails, adventure playground, dry ski slope and the longest toboggan run in Wales to name but a few of the attractions. Visit Kidwelly Castle, Llanelli Wetland Centre, Laugharne Castle and Dylan Thomas’ Boat House, National Botanic Garden of Wales, with a huge glass dome, perfect for a day out whatever the weather.
Wales’ oldest town Carmarthen is 30 minutes by car and horse racing enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to Ffos Las Racecourse. Even the Brecon Beacons National Park is under an hour away. If you are looking to explore the area without a car there’s a track on the doorstep that will take you to the beach and coastal path. The cottage also sits on a bus route and the train station is two miles away.
Come and immerse yourself in this glorious part of Wales and make Talbot Mews your base. At the end of busy days exploring relax in its comfortable surroundings.
