Golfers are well catered for with many excellent local courses at Hawick, Minto, Selkirk and Jedburgh. All of the courses welcome day visitors. Sporting parties are also welcome, with a wealth of shooting and fishing available on the Borders too. The Borders Railway runs from Tweedside near Galashiels to Edinburgh (from the end of 2015). The detached holiday property has many enjoyable walks to explore the surrounding countryside. There is peace to savour or much to do, whether you love scenery, culture, heritage or shopping in nearby Edinburgh. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.
