Ample walking and climbing opportunities are available in the area - for the energetic, Ben Lawers (Perthshire’s highest mountain) can be attempted. The nearby village of Fearnan sits at one end of the Tummel Forest Park and leads to Fortingall, home of the oldest living thing in Europe, the Fortingall Yew. At the far end of the loch is Killin and the Falls of Dochart, and a superb drive from here to the Bridge of Balgie leads to the top of Glen Lyon, the longest in Scotland. Aberfeldy (approx 12 miles) has a good choice of shops and restaurants and has a sports centre and indoor swimming-pool. Golf is widely available throughout the region as well as horse riding, quad biking, bird-watching and cycling. Shop 3 miles.

    This holiday cottage, with uninterrupted views to the riverbank from the front rooms, has a lovely riverside setting just a short walk from the village centre. Comrie is located in the south of Perthshire, at the edge of the Highlands, and is a bustling village with dramatic mountain scenery. The village has a wide selection of shops and 3 local pub/restaurants. A larger variety of shops and a supermarket are available in Crieff, 7 miles. There are 5 golf courses within a 10 mile radius; Comrie’s own 9-hole course is only a few minutes’ walk away. Within an hours’ drive there is access to around 60-70 Munros for the experienced hill walker. The River Earn in front of the property is a highly regarded fishing river, supporting various types of game fish (permits required). Mountain biking routes have been developed by the local cycling centre to cater for all levels. Shop 50 yards, pub and restaurant 75 yards.
