The coffee table, boot rack and bench in the utility room, kitchen table and bedside tables have all been hand crafted by joiners based on the estate. There are many beautiful finishing touches, with chairs having been upholstered, cushions and curtains made and even the lampshades handmade to fit each room. The cosy living room has an open fire which is perfect to curl up in front of with a book and relax, or sit round the table in the kitchen with friends and family and discuss the next day’s activities. Whatever you choose to do during your stay, rest-assured the luxury of Gardener’s Cottage awaits your return for a peaceful and relaxing evening.
    From the doorstep there are miles of countryside through the estate to explore and guests have a perfect opportunity to view wildlife in its natural habitat, with red squirrels, deer and hares being frequent visitors. The property is close to the holiday town of Crieff with a wide array of independent shops, cafés, art galleries, park, whisky distilleries and walks along the River Earn. With 20 golf courses within 15 miles, including the famous Gleneagles, loch and river fishing, mountain biking and hill walking, this is a perfect location for all ages.
    The estate and cottage are powered by a 1950 hydro electric plant.
    Guests can request a private tour of Monzie Castle and the hydro electric plant in advance. Tours are subject to availability of the owners who work full-time whilst trying to run a very busy and demanding estate! You can read more about the history of the castle, hydro, joinery and farm on the estate website. The castle consists of an L-shaped 17th century house and a castellated country house, built in 1795. The castle was gutted in 1908 by fire and was rebuilt by Sir Robert Lorimer in 1910. The house has been unaltered since then and is a testament to Lorimer.

    This stunning semi-detached Scottish cottage is superbly located in the beautiful Perthshire countryside, near the historic town of Blairgowrie. Patio doors to the rear of the cottage lead on to a decked area, providing the ideal place to relax with a drink, catch up on the day’s events and enjoy the panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. There is a cosy wood burner in the living room where you can relax with a book on cooler days; a perfect location to be enjoyed throughout the year.
    It is situated on a working farm dating back to the 1800’s which started out as a dairy farm with the majority of fields being grass for grazing. As well as grassland, Rosemount grew cereals, potatoes and turnips. In the cottage is a very interesting book written by one of the people who used to live and work on the farm, which gives you a real insight into farming at Rosemount at the turn of the century. Although Blairgowrie, the town where the farm is situated, has been known as the ’Berry Toon’ for many years, Rosemount Farm did not actually begin to grow soft fruit until the early 2000’s.
    This is the perfect spot for friends or families seeking quality time together in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. From your front door you can enjoy leisurely walks or cycle rides on quiet country roads and paths and there are many and varied activities available in the area. Good golf is in abundance in the town and locally including Rosemount and Lansdowne courses, and Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie are within an hour’s drive. You can visit Glamis Castle, home of the late Queen Mother, with its fascinating history, and Scone Palace, home to the Stone of Destiny and also the base for Perth Racecourse. Slightly further afield are the bustling towns of Pitlochry and Aberfeldy. The area is also ideal for those who like country sports, with deer stalking, and pheasant and grouse shooting all readily available locally. Trout and salmon fishing on the nearby rivers and lochs are also available (licence required). Blairgowrie is well worth a visit with a great variety of shops, eating places and cafes. It is one of the largest towns in Perthshire, on the banks of River Ericht where you can take scenic walks. The Cateran Trail starts from the town and follows around the historic drove roads used by cattle rustlers. Glenshee, Scotland’s largest skiing area caters for sports activities all year round and is within 25 miles. The cities of Perth, Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh are all within easy driving distance. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

    Bedroom 1: With zip and link twin beds (can be made to super kingsize on request), 28" Smart Freeview TV, DVD player and en-suite with shower cubicle, toilet and heated towel rail.
    Bedroom 2: With double bed, 28" Smart Freeview TV and DVD player.
    Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.

    Ground source heat pump underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included, remainder at £5 per basket. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack.Enclosed lawned garden with decking, garden furniture and BBQ. Shared front garden with picnic benches. 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (working farm). Bike store.
