Located in a private park of 38 properties, it has direct access to the shoreline jetty (boat launching, booked through the hotel). Pleasure cruises are available from the nearby village of Balmaha. There are plenty of challenges for walkers in the area; the 92 mile West Highland Way passes alongside the loch, and runs from Milngavie to Fort William, while the route up Ben Lomond offers scope to ’Munro Baggers’. Within easy driving reach are Stirling, Inverary Castle, Loch Lomond shores and the lovely Trossachs area. The loch’s surroundings have easy walking and the water near the shore offers swimming in warm weather. There is no shop on the site but a seasonal one is 3 miles away, and Drymen, 11 miles, has a range of small shops.
