Find cottages in Achnasheen

Nestled in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, the utterly charming rural village of Achnasheen is known as the gateway to Wester Ross and has magnificent views in all directions.

The village of Achnasheen may be small, but the welcome that the locals give to visitors is decidedly large in stature. Hill walkers are drawn to Achnasheen and the surrounding area by the many spectacular walks that are available close by. The rugged mountain of Fionn Bheinn, at the foot of which lies Achnasheen, is undoubtedly one of the most popular routes for the many of the walkers.

Despite its rural setting, Achnasheen has good road links and the Victorian railway station in the village is an attraction in itself. The village lies on the Kyle of Lochalsh line and you can be in Inverness in about an hour and a half if you fancy a day out to the big city. Located on the banks of the River Ness, Inverness is home to a number of attractions, including Inverness Castle and the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. If you go by car the Culloden Battlefield is situated nearby and is highly popular with visitors to the area.

For a true breath of fresh mountain air and an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity on your next holiday, be sure to check out the availability of cottages in Achnasheen.
