It is situated by an old stone bridge over the Clachandubh Burn and has its own enclosed garden. This detached, single-storey cottage is located on Ederline Estate, a family-owned working hill farm, covering around 13000 acres of stunning, breathtaking scenery. The estate is made up of woodland, far reaching moors and 22 lochs, all with wild brown trout which guests are welcome to fish with a fly. On Loch Ederline, guests can fish for pike, perch and roach (all fishing is £10 per day). Wildlife in the area is legendary, with red and roe deer, pine martens, foxes and red squirrels often seen. There are also regular sightings of golden eagles and ospreys which nest on the estate. As a guest on the estate you are welcome to wander as far as you like and explore this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is rich in history and archaeological sites with the main concentration in the Kilmartin Glen only a short distance away. On the estate itself are two ancient chapels and a castle to be explored. Activities include cycling, kayaking and rowing (bikes and boats for hire), and in season stalking can be arranged. The numerous forest trails and Crinan Canal tow paths are ideal for walking and cycling, and pony trekking is available locally. Oban, a small bustling fishing town with an array of shops, bars and restaurants is a half hour drive, and from the harbour you can take a ferry trip to Mull, Staffa or Iona, all with an abundance of wildlife. Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain, Oban Distillery, Inveraray Jail and the Sea Life Centre all make for great days out.
    Glencoe and Fort William are also easily accessible and offer excellent walking, mountain biking, climbing and skiing. Take the Jacobite Steam Train from Fort William across the Glenfinnan Viaduct as depicted in the Harry Potter Movie, or ride the Gondola up Anoch Mor Mountain. Other outdoor activities in the area include horse riding, diving, sailing, canoeing, golf, mountain biking and fishing. There are plenty of famous castles, beautiful gardens and historical sites to visit. Port Appin has a small village shop, post office and two restaurants.

    Bramble Cottage is situated in the grounds of a hotel in the stunningly beautiful hamlet of Port Appin. Whilst not directly facing the loch it is only a couple of minutes’ walk from the beautiful scenery of Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Mountains. It is also possible to get access to the loch through the hotel garden.

    The cottage is tastefully furnished with great attention to detail and the open plan layout gives a contemporary feel. Set in its own large garden it is well placed for the village amenities and exploring the surrounding countryside. Port Appin has a small village shop, post office, craft shop, a luxury hotel and a village pub.

    From Port Appin, you can hire a bike, take the little ferry to Lismore or enjoy a leisurely walk around Clachan Thoull to Airds bay. Boat trips to see the seals and Castle Stalker are also available from the village. There are plenty of attractions to visit, including the Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary, Castle Stalker, Bonawe Iron Works and Cruachan Hollow Mountain. A superb range of forest trails for walking and mountain biking are close by. The Ballachulish to Oban cycle track allows miles of easy cycling for all the family, whilst enjoying magnificent views and an abundance of wildlife. Oban, the seafood capital of the UK, offers a full range of shops, excellent restaurants, a leisure centre and cinema. From the bustling harbour you can catch a boat to the Hebridean Islands of Mull, Staffa and Iona. Glencoe and Fort William are both a short drive away, and offer excellent skiing, walking and climbing, or a variety of watersports.
