    Inveruel is a stunning, detached property situated on the quiet coastal road overlooking Loch Riddon on the Cowal Peninsula. This spectacular self-catering cottage has lovely views over the sea loch and surrounding hills from all main rooms. It has been finished to a very good standard with solid oak floors downstairs and oak finishes throughout. The cottage has a state of the art air heat recovery system supplying the underfloor heating and a heat recovery ventilation system. The living room has large windows on three sides, ensuring guests can enjoy a great view when relaxing and a wonderful open fire with oak mantelpiece. The bespoke oak kitchen/dining room is fully fitted and includes a granite worktop island, an American style fridge/freezer with cold water and ice dispenser, and a large, wooden, bespoke family dining table to seat 10. There are also two spacious double bedrooms on the ground floor, one with an en-suite with a tower shower with massaging jets, the other with patio doors which lead to the garden. The ground floor bedrooms have accessible wet rooms for those less able. Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms all with loch views. The first floor bathroom has a freestanding bath which is positioned below double Velux windows with views of the hills and loch. There are two patio areas for relaxing and soaking up the sun and loch views. The shoreline is accessed via the other side of the quiet country lane and a canoe or kayak can be easily launched from here. A boat mooring is available on request to the owner and boats can be launched locally. Fishing is available from the rocky shoreline. This is a very spacious property which can easily accommodate family groups or those who just like to spread out and have their own space.


    The wildlife here is fantastic; even from the comfort of the cottage one can see a variety of bird life, especially at low tide when a large sandbank is exposed. Otters have regularly been spotted in front of the house. Seals and gannets are also regular visitors. Inveruel is a great base from which to explore this stunningly beautiful area and to sample the wide range of activities on offer. The Argyll Forest, part of the simply gorgeous Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, is on the doorstep and has numerous forest tracks, marked walks, cycle ways and wonderful waterfalls to explore. Walkers should seek out the Cowal Way, a long distance walk running from Portavadie to Arrochar. A number of public gardens are located in the area such as Ardkinglas, Crarae and Benmore Botanic Gardens with its avenue of giant Redwood trees. There are 3 golf courses available locally and many opportunities for a spot of fishing. At Colintraive there is a short ferry crossing over to the picturesque Isle of Bute and a visit to the fabulous Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House is a must. Tighnabruaich has a sailing school and a selection of small shops. Dunoon has a good centre for shopping, leisure facilities and a small cinema. Inveraray is also a great day out with the Castle, the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll and the 19th century Inveraray Jail both well worth a visit. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

    This holiday property is situated in a stunning, private, elevated position looking over Loch Awe and the ruins of Finchairn Castle. It has a square enclosed courtyard to the back of the property and a large garden to the front which is bordered by a dry stone wall with far reaching views across the loch. This detached, multi-storey farmhouse is located on Ederline Estate, a family-owned working hill farm, covering around 13000 acres of stunning scenery. The estate is made up of woodland, far reaching moors, 22 lochs; all with wild brown trout which guests are welcome to fish with a fly (£10 per day), and on Loch Ederline guests can fish for pike, perch and roach. Wildlife in the area is legendary, with red and roe deer, pine martens, foxes and red squirrels often seen. The famous Scottish wildcat and otter are also common but not seen as regularly. Golden eagle, osprey, peregrines, black and red throated divers and many other rare species all nest on the estate. The area is rich in history and archaeological sites, with the main concentration in the Kilmartin Glen only a short distance away. On the estate itself there are two ancient chapels and a castle to be explored. Activities include kayaking (£10 per half day, £15 per full day), local pony trekking, and in season, stalking can be arranged. The numerous forest trails and Crinan Canal tow paths are ideal for walking and cycling. Short ferry crossings to Islay, Gigha, Mull and Arran are easily made, or the Kintyre Peninsula offers white sandy beaches and some of the best golf courses in Scotland. There are an abundance of good restaurants in easy motoring distance of Ederline Estate which cater for all tastes with some excellent sea food. Shop and pub 5 miles.

    There are plenty of walks and outdoor activities nearby, including horse riding, fishing on a nearby hill loch, cycling, golf and a variety of water sports to name but a few.
