The lodge overlooks the open countryside and fields with sheep and ponies for the holiday makers to enjoy, and there is a footpath nearby which takes you directly to Lunan Bay (sturdy shoes advised), an arc of golden sands, acres of space and big skies. The village of Inverkeilor is less than ½ a mile away with a highly acclaimed restaurant and there are many other eating places in Montrose and Arbroath, both equidistant from the cottage. There are lots of activities to be enjoyed in the surrounding area, from excellent golf at Carnoustie and St Andrews, to nature reserves at Montrose and Forfar and many places of historic interest including Glamis Castle and HMS Discovery which is docked in Dundee. The spectacular Angus Glens are a short drive away and are amazing anytime of the year for both cyclists and walkers.
