For wildlife, the nearby RSPB Montrose Wildlife Basin is well worth a visit to watch flocks of geese in early autumn mornings, and history lovers are spoiled for choice, with the House of Dun (National Trust for Scotland), Restenneth Priory and Arbroath Abbey all nearby.
