The official tourist board line is “visit Devon and you’ll want to stay forever” and it’s easy to understand why. With two coastlines featuring a number of gorgeous sandy beaches, five areas of outstanding natural beauty, the Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks and some picture-postcard towns and villages, there’s plenty of reasons why interest in holiday cottages in Devon is increasing.

Having done this job for 10 years I can confidently say that every day is different. I always tell people that I cover the smile of Devon from Thurlstone to Sidmouth and I see some amazing places that Devon has to offer from the Tors of Dartmoor to The Jurassic Coast in Sidmouth, and all of the amazing villages and towns in-between.

I was born in Plymouth and lived close to Bovisand and Wembury beaches. I moved to Newton Abbot when I was 16 and have been here most of my life. Living locally is a great advantage as I can help absent owners arrange services such as cleaning and maintenance.

Away from work I love rambling and can often be found walking the great tors of Dartmoor or on some of Devon’s amazing beaches. One of my favourite spots is Dawlish Warren nature reserve, where you walk through the Dunes along the seafront and on to the banks of the River Exe. I'm a member of CAMRA (Campaign for real ales) and know so many fantastic pubs and restaurants in Devon to recommend to both owners and holidaymakers.

As a local property expert in the Devon team I get to travel around this fabulous county and visit some amazing properties. No two days are ever the same and I enjoy getting a new property set-up and online. Plus, when I start seeing the bookings roll in – this gives me a real buzz too.

I enjoy walking and can often be seen on the nearby Tarka Trail, cycling or walking the dog on one of the many glorious beaches like Bucks Mills, Instow or Northam Burrows.

I have lived in North Devon for 14 years and have worked for cottages.com for over a decade. I really enjoy my job, putting new cottages on the market and working with the owners to try and make the cottage a highly successful holiday let.

Away from work I am a councillor on the local Parish Council and a qualified ski technician, too. I love the North Devon coastline and when time allows there is no better place than Crow Point or Woolacombe to enjoy the sea, sand and stunning surroundings.
