For the fishing enthusiast - whether deep sea or shore - Valentia is an ideal base. Angling, diving and island cruise charters are available at both Knightstown and Portmagee piers and you can also enjoy the freshly caught seafood in the variety of local restaurants. Kenmare abounds with great restaurants and shops, many cafes and craft shops and a lively market. There are water sports and horse riding available locally and Kenmare is perfect for the golfing or fishing enthusiast. Head out to Kenmare bay on the Seafari and have encounters with seals and water life, or go for a walk or hike on some of the spectacular trails. Visit Killarney National Park and lakes, 20 miles away, or head further along the Beara Peninsula into west Cork via the spectacular Healy Pass. Shop, pub and restaurant 1¾ miles.
