Find cottages in County Dublin

Combine one of Europe’s best city breaks with a cosy cottage holiday in County Dublin. You can enjoy both the delights of Dublin and the rural beauty of the region; for self catering accommodation in the region please take a look at our cottages in County Dublin.

The friendly intimacy of Dublin is a joy to behold; this attractive city has the finest Georgian architecture, old cobbled street, bustling food markets and excellent shopping areas. And of course with over 1,000 pubs it’s also the epicentre for great nights out and entertainment.

Stroll along the banks of the River Liffey and visit the city’s many historical buildings and attractions which are easy to explore on foot. Or maybe dwell a while in one of city parks and families will love Dublin Zoo.

Head outside the city for stunning scenery and more historic encounters; for example at Howth there is a working fishing harbour, a lighthouse, and marina where you can catch a boat to Ireland''s Eye. This small uninhabited island just off the coast is home to birds, a Martello tower and ecclesiastical ruins.

Malahide Castle is around six miles to the north of Dublin and easily accessible by car, rail, or bus. The property provides a mix of medieval, Georgian and modern features and sits amidst parklands and landscaped gardens.

Visit the harbours and Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre at Dalkey village for a full-day of activity and entertainment just 10 miles south of the city centre. Find walks and tours in the village and see the two Norman castles dating from the 14th century and a 10th century church. Just off shore Dalkey Island (assessable by boat) is a wildlife haven, with a large colony of seals, a wild goat herd, numerous birds and bottlenose dolphin frequenting the shores.

Other must-see places in the area include Glasnevin Cemetery Museum, the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin Mountains (recreational sites), Dun Laoghaire Harbour with adjacent James Joyce Tower and Museum, and the sandy beach at Portmarnock.

There’s so much to see and do this this region, so to start planning your trip see our selection of holiday cottages in County Dublin today.
