    There are plenty of outdoor activities for all ages on offer in the immediate area, such as diving at the local Oceanlife Dive Centre, which holds courses for all levels of ability, surfing at Kilkee Surf School, a variety of watersports at Nevasail Watersports, which include sailing, powerboating and fishing, both shore and deep sea. Golfers can enjoy some breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean while playing at Kilkee Golf Club. The famous Doonbeg Golf Club is only 10 minutes away and Lahinch Golf Club is 30 minutes away.
    Kilkee is a long established seaside holiday resort. In the Victorian era, seaweed baths were very popular, these have since been replaced by the Thalasso Therapy Centre, which offers a variety of treatments ranging from the traditional to state of the art.
    This part of the Clare coastline is particularly dramatic and there are some really stunning walks along the cliffs. The area is popular with bird watchers, and nearby Loop Head is particularly scenic with the added advantage of being slightly off the main tourist trail. For a change from the sandy beach, why not head to the Pollock Holes, three naturally enclosed rock pools which are ideal for bathing.
