The property has traditional features including exposed stone, ancient beams and a magnificent fireplace. This is a truly great house for family holidays. There is much to do and see in this lovely area. The pretty town of St Alvère, 3km, has a good Monday market, shops, banks and tourist office.
The riverside town of Le Bugue is just 9km and has a thriving Tuesday market, many shops, banks and a supermarket. Within an hour’s drive you can explore the many châteaux that adorn the banks of the River Dordogne, including Castelnaud and Beynac, the Bastide of Domme, known as the Acropolis of the Dordogne, with its quaint streets, stunning views and many restaurants, and La Roque-Gageac, with its houses that cling to the rock face overlooking the river.
This is an ideal area for cycling, walking, visiting many gardens and houses, and canoe hire. Bergerac, with airport to UK destinations, is 36km, the medieval town of Sarlat is 40km and Perigueux, capital of the region, is 41km.
