Gourdon, with its medieval houses lies 12km away and is rich in prehistoric sites. There are many pretty villages surrounding it, each with their own charm. A visit to Sarlat, about 30km away, is also recommended - it is officially listed as a ‘Town of Art and History’ and boasts many medieval buildings, mostly built in honey-coloured stone.
