A visit to the ’Village des Tortues’, the famous Hermann tortoise sanctuary, is worth a look, and is just 6km away. The Massif des Maures is nearby and has great walking. Gonfaron is also known as the ’land of the flying donkeys’, a legend dating back to the fifteenth century.
