Very well restored, this barn conversion is set next to the home of the Anglo-French owners who are most helpful with advice on places to visit. Cycle on a converted old railway line, on a path via Marthon, or have superb walks all around. There is a good golf course at Ecuras at less than half an hour’s drive as well as a beautiful man-made lake with a beach that the children will love at St. Estèphe. Water-ski on the large lake at Angoulême - an interesting old town nearby with cobbled streets full of interesting shops. Do not miss the markets all around for special local food and wines but also the Pineau aperitif made from Cognac.
