Loire Valley

Cottages and gîtes with pools in the Loire Valley offer unrivalled access to one of France’s most delightfully relaxing and naturally verdant regions. The Loire received World Heritage status from UNESCO in 2000 for its historic architecture and unspoilt nature and you can’t wander far without witnessing a host of wonderful Renaissance chateaux and a view to take your breath away. What’s more, with a property with its own pool, you can continue relaxing and enjoying the tranquillity of the region when you’re back at your accommodation.

But the Loire Valley has much more to offer than stunning gîtes and cottages with fantastic pools. Pay a visit to the city of Le Mans in June and you could witness the incredible 24 hour motor race of the same name. The annual event has been taking place since 1923 and though it is undoubtedly the most famous event in the local calendar, there’s plenty more to enjoy in the region too.

For a more tranquil appreciation of the Loire Valley visit Chinon. Often referred to as ‘the garden of France’, here you will find a wealth of natural wonder and a rich heritage dating from the Middle Ages. A cottage in Saumur provides the perfect opportunity to explore and enjoy one of France’s finest exports: the fine wine grown amongst gorgeous rural vineyards. The old town hosts a weekly market that’s perfect for sampling some of the region’s famed wares, and, even if you haven’t brought your appetite, you can always feast your eyes on the historic architecture. Many of the town’s beautiful architectural features were created from the local stone.

More local heritage and vibrant charms can be found when you enjoy a cottage with pool in the Angers and Tours regions of the Loire Valley. Here you will find some of France’s most popular charms, with fascinating history, well-preserved heritage and glorious food and drink to enjoy. The surrounding region is equally rich in stunning vistas and glorious countryside and you can find cottages with outdoor pools that offer incredible views of the Loire Valley from sun-kissed terraces. There’s no better way to gain an appreciation of the unfettered beauty of your surroundings.
