One ‘must-visit’ when in Brittany is Mont St Michel, near to the border with Normandy. Sitting just off the coast, Mont St Michel is a medieval abbey and town located on a small rocky outcrop and is now designated as an official UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Travelling even further back in time, the prehistoric stone monuments at Carnac make up one of the most famous megalithic sites in France. Not far from Carnac, just off the south coast of Brittany, the island of Belle-Ille is the perfect place to truly unwind as no cars are permitted here.
