Perfectly situated in the peaceful detached hamlet of Fremington, Home Farm Cottage is the ideal location for friends, families, walkers and cyclists wanting to really explore North Yorkshire. Right at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Fremington is just half a mile away from the popular town of Reeth and in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside that Swaledale has to offer. The most super destination for cyclists, the Dales Bike Centre is directly opposite the cottage and offers bike hire to visitors of all ages. There are also two lockable bike stores at the cottage (one internal), for guests wanting to bring their own bikes. This is the ideal opportunity to cycle along the very same roads that the elite cyclists of the Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire have recently enjoyed or for guests wanting to take part on one of the many scheduled cycle races that take place at all times of year and pass right through Fremington. Also perfect for walkers, Swaledale is known as one of the most picturesque locations in the Yorkshire Dales. With easy access to Arkengarthdale and Wensleydale, guests will find many established footpaths leading them over the famous Buttertubs and beyond, through heather covered fields and open countryside. There are many public footpaths and cycle paths that lead right from the heart of Reeth and Grinton and into Calver Hill, Harkerside and Fremington Edge. A little further afield, but still within very short driving distance, guests will be able to visit Gunnerside, Muker, Hawes and Aysgarth Falls where there are many more walks to enjoy. Middleham is home to Middleham Castle and also well known as famous horse racing community where guests will be able to watch the world class racehorses being lead through the village and up to the gallops outside. There is also Middleham Castle which was home to Richard III and the fantastic Forbidden Corner attraction where families will be able to spend all day exploring the twists and turns of this hidden folly. The popular Georgian town of Richmond is also only a short drive away and offers a market square, shops, cafes, theatre and historic Richmond Castle. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
