Grisedale was once famous as the ’The Dale that Died’ after the book and TV documentary of 1975, but is now a beautiful setting for a peaceful holiday in wonderful, natural surroundings. The area is a paradise for bird watchers with birds of prey, owls, curlew, oyster catchers, lapwing and grouse. Wildlife includes red squirrel, stoat, hare and deer. There is fantastic walking potential with the cottage being close to the Pennine Way, the Three Peaks and the Howgill Fells. The Ingleborough area provides all the wonders of limestone scenery with its caverns and potholes, and the Lake District is only a short drive away.
