A highlight in the town calendar is the weekly street market, where you will find a fantastic range of gift and food stalls, including ones that sell the town’s speciality, delicious Wensleydale cheese; the Wensleydale Creamery is close by and a popular visitor attraction.

Dentdale is the smallest and probably the loveliest dale with pretty riverside walks and country lanes with footpaths leading to the hills, and the Three Peaks are nearby for the more adventurous. There are walks to suit everyone with riverside strolls, the Flintergill Nature Trail, and strenuous climbs up the dale side. The Three Peaks and Lake District are also easily accessible.

Famous walks and cycle rides, including one around Semerwater with its inland beach, and waterfalls and Roman road on the return leg, can be accessed straight from the door. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
