The beautiful villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are within 10 miles of the property and are well worth a visit. You can take the North Yorkshire Moors steam train to the market town of Pickering stopping at Grosmont (where the Hogsmead station in Harry Potter was filmed) and Goathland (otherwise known as Aidensfield, where the series Heartbeat was filmed). For those of you who enjoy walking, Whitby is on the Cleveland Way, and there’s also the Cinder Path which passes close by the property; an old, disused railway track that runs some 21 miles from Scarborough to Whitby, ideal for cycling.
