There is a small sitting-out area to the front of the property which is perfect for those guests who enjoy a spot of al fresco dining in the sunshine. Only a short walk away from the centre of Reeth, you’ll find a local village shop, bakery, tea shops, cafes and a popular pub that sells great quality food as well as a regular farmer’s market that takes place on the village green, just a two minute walk away. There is also a small gallery and gift shop selling handmade Yorkshire crafts which make the perfect take home gift for friends and family. Right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales you’ll find great views of Swaledale reaching out as far as the eye can see. Perfect for those who enjoy a more energetic holiday too, there are many public footpaths and cycle paths that lead right from the heart of the village and out beyond into Swaledale, Wensleydale and nearby Arkengarthdale, taking in magnificent views, unspoilt countryside, river walks and woodland areas that are packed full of natural wildflower meadows, flora, fauna and wildlife. There is a small store outside the property where you will be able to keep a bike if necessary. Visit Fremingham where you can hire bikes, or relax in a cafe. A little further afield but still within easy driving distance are the larger towns including Leyburn 10 miles, Middleham 12 miles, Castle Bolton, West Burton and Harmby which are all popular tourist destinations and offer weekly farmer’s markets selling local produce and goods. A little further afield but still within an easy 12 mile drive are the popular market town of Richmond with its Georgian architecture, castle, shops and theatre. The historic cathedral cities of Durham and York can also be reached within an hour and a half drive too and are certainly worth a day trip.
