The cottage offers guests all of the comfort of a practical holiday home yet still maintains its own identity with exposed original features throughout including an open fire in the lounge and a wood burner in the kitchen. On the first floor guests will find a very well presented master bedroom with double bed, fabulous stained glass windows and amazing views across the Yorkshire Dales. The second bedroom offers twin beds and original features. To the front of the property guests will find a small front garden area and one parking spot directly opposite Moorcroft. There is also ample opportunity for guests to park additional cars on the village green as well as the small parking area in the centre of Reeth.
Perfect for guests wanting to leave their car behind and be close to village amenities, there are three local pubs with an excellent reputation as well as numerous small cafes, two local shops, an art and craft centre, post office and bakery. Guests can store their bikes at the rear of Moorcroft and enjoy varied routes including that of the Tour de France! Also perfect for walkers, Swaledale is known as one of the most picturesque locations in the Yorkshire Dales. With easy access to Arkengarthdale and Wensleydale, guests will find many established footpaths leading them over the famous Buttertubs and beyond, through heather covered fields and open countryside. There are many public footpaths and cycle paths that lead onto Calver Hill, Harkerside and Fremington Edge. A little further afield but still within a very short driving distance, guests will be able to visit Gunnerside, Muker, Hawes and Aysgarth Falls where there are many more walks to enjoy. Guests will find the popular market town of Leyburn only a short drive away which offers a weekly farmers market as well as a chocolate factory, Tenants Auction House and many cafes and eateries. Middleham is home to Middleham Castle and is also a well known horse racing community, you can even watch the world class racehorses being led through the village and up to the gallops outside. The Forbidden Corner is nearby, and families will be able to spend all day exploring the twists and turns of this hidden folly. The popular Georgian town of Richmond is also only a short drive away and offers a market square, shops, cafes, a theatre and historic Richmond Castle.
