There are many excellent local pubs, restaurants and country inns which provide the perfect resting place before, during or after a long walk or cycle. The popular market town of Reeth is only 6 miles away and has a weekly farmer’s market, where local traders sell local produce including cheeses, fruit and vegetables. Reeth has always been a popular place with visitors to the Dales, and has many tea rooms in which guests can relax. There are some super walks from Reeth too which stretch all over the area, varying in length from gentle strolls along the Swale paths, to day long routes, taking the energetic to the summits of Great Shunner Fell, Lovely Seat and Addlebrough.
    For guests wishing to hire a bike there is cycle hire in nearby Fremington.
