Perfectly situated in the quiet village of Muker and occupying a position opposite the Ghyll Valley, Benmore is a traditional Yorkshire Dales holiday cottage. A real home-from-home, with plenty of personal touches, Benmore is the ideal property for guests wanting to immerse themselves in the traditions of this popular Dales village.
Traditional and comfortable, this semi-detached cottage is deceptively spacious on the ground floor. The living room is at the front of the cottage and offers original beams as well as an electric coal effect fireplace, which is perfect for those cosy winter evenings. To the rear of the cottage is the kitchen/dining room with doors leading out into the rear garden area, with fabulous views towards the hills and Dales. Surprisingly, guests will then find another living room with double sofa bed and a downstairs bathroom, with a shower over bath. On the first floor are two double bedrooms and a further bathroom. With great views across the Yorkshire Dales and a traditional pub on the doorstep, Benmore is a super cottage to book at any time of year.
A great destination for guests wanting to enjoy a walking or cycling holiday, there are numerous established public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that lead straight from the doorstep and out into the heart of beautiful Swaledale, Wensleydale and Arkengarthdale. They lead through some of the popular villages and towns nearby which include Gunnerside, Hawes, Keld, Thwaite, Low Row, Fremington and Reeth, which all lie within a 10 mile radius. There are many excellent local pubs, restaurants and country inns which provide the perfect resting place before, during or after a long walk or cycle. The popular market town of Reeth is only 6 miles away and has a weekly farmer’s market, where local traders sell local produce including cheeses, fruit and vegetables. Reeth has always been a popular place with visitors to the Dales, and has many tea rooms in which guests can relax. There are some super walks from Reeth too which stretch all over the area, varying in length from gentle strolls along the Swale paths, to day long routes, taking the energetic to the summits of Great Shunner Fell, Lovely Seat and Addlebrough.
For guests wishing to hire a bike there is cycle hire in nearby Fremington. A little further afield but still within easy driving distance are many popular attractions to visit, including Castle Bolton, Swaledale Folk Museum, Theakstons Brewery, Wensleydale Creamery and The Forbidden Corner.
