    Situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ground Stones overlooks Wensleydale fells, moors, the River Ure and the unspoilt countryside between. Nestled on the outskirts of the bustling market town of Hawes, only a 6 minute walk, with its county-renowned deli, the famous Wensleydale Creamery, Ropemakers Centre, restaurants, five pubs, tea rooms, bistro, clothes shops and lovely gift shops.     Helmswood Farmhouse dates back to the 17th Century and displays a wealth of original features to remind you of its ancient past by way of exposed beams, flagged floors and even the odd piece of farming ironmongery or two.  The rooms are spacious and characterful and the Farmhouse has wonderful views from all rooms to the front and side of the house, even from the bath!  Every possible facility has been provided, from broadband internet access and full sky package to the sumptuous beds and mattresses - carefully chosen to ensure a good night’s rest.

Or go back in time and ride on the steam trains of the Yorkshire Dales Railway, 3 miles, or the Worth Valley Railway, 12 miles. Skipton is home to a medieval castle, a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants and boat trips down the 200-year-old Leeds and Liverpool Canal. There is some excellent walking to be enjoyed locally, just a few miles from the Pennine Way.
