    Snape village has a pub serving food, an excellent farm shop, a pretty beck running through it, and even a  castle, dating from 1426 once the home of Henry VIII’s last, and surviving, wife Katherine Parr.  For those with an interest in nature, Thorpe Perrow Arboretum is a short distance away. The Georgian market town of Bedale is around 3 miles away and offers a wide selection of shops, tea rooms and pubs along with the town of Masham, which has two breweries to explore and holds various seasonal events. Excellent footpath walks and cycle routes can be discovered in the area, with the heart of the National Park easily accessed.  A delightful cottage in an area with something for everyone.

Also perfect for walkers, Swaledale is known as one of the most picturesque locations in the Yorkshire Dales. With easy access to Arkengarthdale and Wensleydale, guests will find many established footpaths leading them over the famous Buttertubs and beyond, through heather covered fields and open countryside. There are many public footpaths and cycle paths that lead onto Calver Hill, Harkerside and Fremington Edge.
