The buildings have been lovingly restored and converted, and the cottages have been commended in the Yorkshire Dales National Park Golden Jubilee Awards of 2005, recognising the skill and dedication of local craftsmen and designers whose work respected the history and heritage of the cottages whilst providing all comforts and amenities that guests would expect. The cottages are cosy, warm and welcoming with wood burners and electric storage heaters, and retain many original features which include stone flagged floors, stone alcoves, beamed ceilings, inglenook and feature fireplaces and stone staircases.

There is a multitude of established footpaths that lead right from the door and will take guests on a journey through some of the most spectacular scenery that this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has to offer, and leads right through Swaledale, Wensleydale, Arkengarthdale and beyond.
