Worcester

Worcester is a charming, ancient city, located by the scenic River Severn and ideally placed for exploring the Malvern Hills and Cotswolds. It’s also a lovely destination for relaxing city break.

The impressive medieval cathedral has loomed over the city for centuries. Today it remains at the heart of the community, and attracts visitors from all over the globe. The city’s pedestrianized medieval streets are home to a fantastic selection of shops, and there are a wide range of restaurants offering everything from tasty Modern British, to a variety of international cuisines to suit all tastes.

Just outside the city centre you will find the renowned Royal Worcester Porcelain site and museum and a fantastic example of medieval architecture is the Greyfriars. Now owned by the National Trust, this was once a merchant’s residence and is well worth a visit. Those looking for a dash of culture are well served; the City Art Gallery and Museum both have some fascinating exhibits and the delightful Swan Theatre is renowned for its high quality productions. For live music, head down to Huntingdon Hall, or attend one of the regular concerts held in the stunning surroundings of the cathedral. Worcester also has two multi-screen cinemas if you fancy an evening at the ‘pictures’.

Keen walkers will delight in a gentle stroll through one of the scenic parks or along the delightful riverside. To gain a different perspective on the city, hop aboard one of the boat trips that depart from North Parade and South Quay parks.
