Also worthy of a visit, is historic Arundel, famous for its castle, lanes with artefacts, books and antique shops, plus the Wildfowl and Wetlands wildlife centre. Other places to visit include Pulborough Brooks RSPB, or Midhurst with Cowdray Polo and shops. There are many scenic walks in the South Downs National Park. Also within easy driving distance (or train ride) are the cosmopolitan city Brighton to the east and Portsmouth to the west, which has Spinnaker Tower, ferry trips to the Isle of Wight and designer retail shopping. National Trust Homes and Gardens, such as Goodwood House, Parham Park, Royal Pavilion, Petworth House, Stanstead Park and East Dean can all be easily reached. Outdoor pursuits such as

Bustling Brighton is within 20 minutes’ drive, within the ornate Royal Pavilion, The Lanes for interesting artefacts, plentiful theatres, art galleries, extensive shopping, the marina with harbourside dining, and many amusements for all ages along the beach. Visit Chichester, with its beautiful ornate cathedral, theatre, pedestrianised shopping, tea rooms, harbour tours, Goodwood or Fontwell racing. Also within easy reach is the picturesque harbour village of Bosham with antiques, emporium and waterside cafe, or naval Portsmouth with Spinnaker Tower, designer shopping and waterside dining.
