Find cottages in Halesworth

The small town of Halesworth offers a cottage holiday in Suffolk that’s suitable for both families and those interested in the culture of the region; it’s close to both lovely countryside and the beautiful Suffolk coast is only ten miles away.

The pedestrianized thoroughfare includes a range of independent traders selling everything from locally produced food to designer items, and Wednesdays are market days, when you will find stalls set out in the Market Place. There is also an indoor country market on Fridays in St Mary’s Church Hall.

For a small town there’s plenty going on, including various festivals and events throughout the year, notably a well-established arts festival that is held each October. The museum, housed in the Railway Station House, is worth visiting to research local history and there are regularly changing displays. Possibly the best way to explore Halesworth is to follow the town trail, which guides you around the town with information boards highlighting the important events in Halesworth’s history.

Halesworth Millennium Green extends over 32 acres with lots of open countryside, wildlife and access to the Town River. The countryside around Halesworth is ideal for cyclists and walkers and there is an all-weather cycle track through the Millennium Green.

Southwold, on the Suffolk coast, is just ten miles away and is a favourite destination for visitors. There are many cycle routes around the area and visitors will enjoy discovering sleepy Suffolk villages and wide open spaces in the surrounding countryside.
