Find cottages in Stoke-on-Trent

Located in the heart of Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent is famous for its rich industrial heritage. It is known as the ''world capital of ceramics’, but there is much more to this colourful city.

There’s plenty to do here for all ages. Take a look around some of the award-winning museums or numerous pottery shops. Many famous products, such as Wedgwood, Portmeirion and Moorcroft, are designed and manufactured here. Why not spend the afternoon on a factory tour, or for great family fun, take a trip to Alton Towers, which is just down the road.

If you prefer being outdoors there is a huge variety of activities to choose from. Children will love mixing with the Barbary Macaques at Trentham Monkey Forest, or even having a go at being monkeys themselves at Go Ape at Cannock Chase, a fantastic forest adventure.

There are several historic houses, many of which have beautiful grounds to explore. Rode Hall, Ford Green Hall and Shugborough Estate are just three well worth a visit. If outdoor spaces are your forte, Trentham Gardens is for you. Home to the Monkey Forest, it also has a shopping village, Aerial Extreme and the gardens themselves. Other parks include Central Forest Park, Hanley Park and the beautiful Burslem Park.

There are numerous indoor activities, including leisure centres, a climbing centre and theatres for culture lovers or you could take a train ride or even hire a boat to cruise along the waterways.
