Stafford is the picturesque County Town of Staffordshire, a bustling location with plenty to see and do, possessing a rich history that’s reflected in the architecture and layout of the town; a place for good nightlife, restaurants, bars and Inns.

The town is full of attractive historical buildings from various different periods. Parts of the town were built in the 1700s, 1800s and in some instances even earlier, there are all manner of architectural influences on display throughout the town centre, making it a town with a real sense of history. It’s home to England''s oldest surviving entirely timber-framed built town-house; an impressive Elizabethan structure, the High House has a great visitors'' centre with plenty to see and do. The town also has a wonderful theatre and there is an art gallery with regular new exhibitions on the outskirts of town.

A large part of the surrounding area comes under the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust''s care, with lots of beautiful outdoor areas perfect for hiking, picnics and enjoying nature along the banks of the River Trent. Stafford Castle and its beautiful gardens are also a must-see when visiting the area, especially the impressive Keep. The Castle and its grounds host events year around, from historical re-enactments to performances of Shakespearean plays. For a great family day out Alton Towers is close by and Go Ape adventure forest park is at Cannock Chase.
