At the base of the Tor lie the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, set in 36 acres of beautiful parkland and ponds it''s the perfect destination for a family day out. There''s an abundance of historical places in the region so take the time to explore as many as possible, especially Wells Cathedral and the Roman Baths and its museum.

If you can tear yourself away from exploring Somerset''s past there’s a lot more to explore. Longleat Safari Park is just one of the many animal attractions in the area, but you can also get up close and personal with magnificent shire horses birds of prey and marine life.

    Located in the picturesque seaside village of Bossington, Lower House is a charming part-thatched, part-tiled character property. With generously proportioned rooms and a lovely enclosed garden, the house retains original features whilst offering guests a very good level of comfort and convenience. The surrounding countryside is one of Somerset’s best kept secrets with stunning coastal and moorland scenery. There are numerous walks from the cottage to the coast and into the countryside.

    The village of Porlock is located close by and has a good range of shops and other local amenities. Minehead has a wider range of shops and is also home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. Further places of interest in the area include Dunster and its castle (National Trust), the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, Exmoor National Park and its many attractions, and the ancient harbour of Watchet. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor, with horse riding, golf and fishing all available locally. Beach 800 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
