On the southern fringes of Exmoor lies the pretty riverside town of Dulverton. Located close to the Devon Border, the town''s close proximately to the sandy beaches of North Devon and beautiful Somerset countryside make it an ideal location for a relaxing cottage holiday break.

Situated between the rivers Barle and Exe and on the banks of the Barle, this small but lively rural town has several good quality independent shops, award winning restaurants, traditional pubs and cafes serving cream teas and other local delights. There is a large Arts Centre with exhibitions throughout the year and festivals such as the annual Carnival and Folk Festival.

If you love the outdoors, you will be spoilt for choice in Exmoor National Park. The area is rich with wildlife, including rare birds, red deer and the iconic wild Exmoor ponies. There are numerous trails winding over the windswept moors and hills and through pretty woodland, whether you are on foot, on a bicycle or on horseback. There are Iron Age Hillforts to explore and ancient stone bridges dating back to prehistoric times.

The semi-detached cottage is situated in the Exmoor town of Dulverton not far from the banks of the River Barle. So, whether you want to wander into the town centre, enjoy one of the local pubs and restaurants, or sit by the river and watch the world pass by, all this can be done without having to step foot in the car. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor and many other places to visit to make a memorable holiday. The Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), valley of the rocks and the funicular cliff railway are close by. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a relaxing walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill will make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Shop, pub and restaurant 10 yards.
