    The village of Porlock is located close by and has a good range of shops and other local amenities. Minehead has a wider range of shops and is also home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. Further places of interest in the area include Dunster and its castle (National Trust), the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, Exmoor National Park and its many attractions, and the ancient harbour of Watchet. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor, with horse riding, golf and fishing all available locally. Beach 800 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    This delightful and large, detached country house is situated in the peaceful and rural countryside of the Brendon Hills, a short distance from Minehead. There are some very nice walks direct from the house into the surrounding countryside to be enjoyed during your stay. The local area offers plenty to see and do. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor. Visit the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy a nice walk and an ice cream, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in steam engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens and the deer park both make interesting days out, as well as Porlock and Porlock Weir. There are many beaches including at Minehead, Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. Beach 4 miles. Shop 1½ miles and pub 2 miles.

Also within walking distance are the romantic villages of Bossington, Selworthy, Allerford and bustling Porlock for year-round needs, as well as Minehead’s farmers’ market. There is surfing at Lynmouth or beyond to Croyde and Woolacombe, and golf at Minehead or the fine course at Saunton for a true test. Horse riding is available for all abilities and entertainment for both children and adults at Lynch Farm and Tropicaria further on. There are also glorious walks, of course, to hidden treasures such as Culbone Church, Butlins at Minehead or Dunster Castle if activities such as outdoor meals, table tennis, croquet and messing about with balls at West Lynch does not suffice. Local beaches are a short drive away, but Bossington beach is within walking distance, with its amazing pebble ridge. Enjoy a stay in this special corner of Exmoor. Shops approximately 1 mile away in Porlock. Nearest shop ½ mile.

Each property has a barbecue area and views over open countryside. A function room seating 60 is available on site by prior arrangement with the owner, and catering can be arranged. East Brent lies at the foot of Brent Knoll, a 450ft high hill that has the remains of an ancient Celtic camp on its summit with views of the Quantocks, Bridgwater Bay, the Bristol Channel, the Mendips and South Wales. With easy access to the M5, the village is only minutes from the coast; Weston-Super-Mare and Sand Bay have sandy beaches and family attractions, whilst the smaller resorts of Clevedon and Burnham on Sea retain an atmosphere of a bygone era. Axbridge is 5 miles, and the caves and gorge at Cheddar, 6 miles. For walking and cycling, the Quantocks, the Mendips, the Somerset Levels and Exmoor are close by. Shop 1 mile, pub 600 yards.
