    Blindwell House is close to the amenities of Matlock and is a very convenient base from which to explore the attractions of the White Peak, including the towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are only a few miles away, as are popular family attractions such as Crich Tramway Museum, Peak Rail Steam Railway, The Heights of Abraham Cable Car in Matlock Bath and Gulliver’s Kingdom. Alton Towers Theme Park is also less than an hour away.
    Walkers will love exploring nearby Lathkil Dale and Robin Hood’s Stride as well as the Chatsworth Estate. Traffic free cycle trails such as The Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail, The Manifold Track and The High Peak Trail are all close by with bike hire available at Middleton by Wirksworth. Wensley is easily accessible by road from the A6 and there is also an hourly bus service from Matlock Station through Wensley and the attractive village of Winster, to the market town of Bakewell. There is a major supermarket a short drive from the cottage in Matlock where there are also a good choice of shops and restaurants. The nearest pub is less than a mile away and can be reached by following a footpath along which there are panoramic views of Matlock and the Derwent Valley.
